Annual Report 2024

2024 was a year of important milestones for our association. A new board was elected, and we successfully launched Ukrainian language classes for primary school children, with 30 participants now attending in three groups. Other highlights included the Easter egg painting workshop, readings with Iryna Fingerova, participation in the Volunteer Day, and the 2nd Ukrainian Evening in Jülich. In addition, we organized the fundraising campaign “Warmth for Ukraine”.

We are especially proud of the language classes and cultural events that made our work more visible. At the same time, strengthening public outreach and attracting new members remain key challenges. For 2025, we are planning participation in the Festival of Cultures and the 3rd Ukrainian Evening.

Annual Report 2023

2023 was the association’s first full year and at the same time a period of major challenges. Despite a decline in donations, we were able to carry out important activities: a fundraising campaign for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, the Festival of Cultures, and the first Ukrainian Evening in Jülich. We received the Indemann Award 2023 and were nominated for the German Volunteer Award. In addition, more than 300 Ukrainian books were acquired for the city library, Christmas gifts were organized for children, and under the “Christmas Miracle” project four recreational trips for Ukrainian children were carried out.
The association has established itself as a permanent part of community life in Jülich and, for the first time, received municipal funding. Challenges remain, especially in public outreach and long-term financing.
